Who is Cratus?

CRATUS LOGO INTROCratus Canada Ltd.

Welcome to Cratus Canada LTD.Since the discovery of electricity the basic concept of it’s delivery to customers has remained unchanged. Power grids have expanded, attempting to keep up with the growing demand for clean sources of energy. Whether the source of the electrical energy is hydro, coal, solar wind or any other technology the problem of quality remains the same. The degradation of the delivered product is caused either by inherent problems in the grid or external issues attacking the grid, either can and is having tremendous effects on the end user.

Cratus Canada LTD. was founded to help the consumer conquer these attacks.

The technological world we live in is dependent on a continuous, reliable, distortion free source of electrical power. The level of sophistication in technical growth reaches deep into our lives, computers are faster and “smarter”, fridges “smarter”, air conditioning is “smarter,” “smarter” simply means they have the capability of monitoring their consumption of power and “turn themselves on and off as the need arises.

Industry has also moved forward with “smarter technology” variable speed drives, self-regulating equipment that monitors demand. Robots, data and video links, these and many others are all vulnerable to the effects of inconsistent, or “dirty power”.

Intelligent technology demands power that is free of interruption or disturbance. The consequences of large-scale power incidents are well documented. A recent study in the USA has shown that industrial and digital business firms are losing $45.7 billion per year. Another $15 billion to $24 billion attributed to all other power quality problems. These interruptions, many times are unexplained, systems are simply re-booted or cycled to restart without understanding the causation or the accumulated damaged being done.

Program and data corruption caused by a power interruption can create problems for software recovery operations that may take weeks to resolve.

Many power problems originate in the commercial power grid, which, with its thousands of miles of transmission lines, is subject to weather conditions, along with equipment failure, traffic accidents and major switching operations. Also, power problems affecting today’s technological equipment are often generated locally within a facility from any number of situations, such as local construction, heavy start-up loads, faulty distribution components, and even typical background electrical noise.

Learn More About Transient Power Surges

Often these problems are identified to be the work of “Transient” activity within your part of the grid. It has also been discovered that this ”transient” activity is cumulative by nature. Your sensitive equipment is under transient attack minute by minute day by day.  Finding the weak spot then breaking it down.

Your sensitive equipment is under transient attack every second of the day, until ultimately, the weakened areas will break down and fail prematurely.

Cratus Canada LTD. can help identify and solve these problems.
